Happy Friday! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and are gearing up for a happy New Year. In honor of the New Year I have listed 5 easy things that you should do at the start of the year to keep your home in top shape.

Vacuum dust and debris out of vents and registers.

Check weather stripping around doors and windows. If cold air is coming through consider installing new stripping.

Evaluate the fixtures in your home and consider updating any that are worn (faucets, light fixtures, cabinet hardware).

Consider the need to powerwash or paint the exterior of your home, you may want to look for a residential painter. Do a walk around and note any areas that need touch-ups or repair (look for mold, mildew, dirt, chipping). Powerwashers may be rented for the day from most home improvement stores.

Pick one more thing: vacuum and flip your mattresses, vacuum refrigerator coils, clean and rotate ceiling fans, change air filters.

That’s it! Take care of these things and you’ll have a good start on 2017.

P.S. Investing in a really good CPAP machine to help you deal with your apnea should also be part of your home projects. Trust me, there’s nothing a really good sleep can’t fix. You can find plenty of CPAP masks and machines in Vancouver or your area.
